Our Commitment

Quiet Oracle should be usable by anyone who wants to write a question and read an answer, regardless of how they browse the web. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a box to tick once, and we keep working on it as the site evolves.

The Standard We Aim For

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the site. In practice that means working toward: sufficient colour contrast between text and background, full keyboard navigation without relying on a mouse, clear and consistent heading structure so screen readers can navigate the page logically, descriptive link text instead of “click here,” and form fields — including the question submission form — that are properly labelled for assistive technology.

What We’ve Done

• Chosen a colour palette with contrast in mind for body text, headings, and interactive elements.
• Built the site’s navigation and the question form to be operable by keyboard alone.
• Used semantic HTML headings throughout, rather than styled text that only looks like a heading.
• Kept link and button labels descriptive rather than generic.

Where We Still Have Work to Do

Accessibility isn’t a finished state, and we don’t claim full conformance on every page at every moment. Some older content or third-party embeds may not yet meet every checkpoint, and we’re working through those as we find them — often thanks to someone telling us.

Reporting a Barrier

If you run into something on the site that’s difficult or impossible to use with a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, or any other assistive technology, please tell us. Email [email protected] with a description of the page and the problem you hit, and we’ll look into it. We can’t promise an instant fix for every issue, but we do read and act on every report.

Third-Party Content

Where the site links out to third-party pages or embeds, we can’t guarantee the accessibility of that external content, since it sits outside our control. Our commitment applies to the pages we build and maintain directly.
